In this project I present a series of images of people sleeping in their beds, along with dream entries to contrast reality with the unreal, fantasy, and unconsciousness of the sleeping mind. All subjects are justly asleep in their own environments, which adds to the element of actuality of this personal everyday occurrence. Because a dream can never be seen by another, the quiet and rested body shown slumbering represents the active, awake, and vivid nature of the written dream. In this project the intention is to create a personal visual imagination of the dream through viewing the sleeping subject. A dream can be defined as a memory of an imagined and unconscious state of being. Perhaps the most important factor of dreaming is how the mind reacts to the self being free of the real world. It is this brief state of psyche that our minds generate the most unique and intimate scenarios and events.
